WHAT A FANTASTIC SERIES THIS IS, IN EVERY CONCEIVABLE WAY. THE PINNACLE OF ADULT DRAMA ,MUSIC AND ---WELL EVERYTHING. i REMEMBER THE RADIO TIMES COVER, FORCASTING ITS START, IN MARCH 1978. THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER LIKE IT, NOW, OR IN THE FUTURE. I'LL GO GET MY BOX SET OUT, AND WATCH IT ALL OVER AGAIN.

When I viewed this series as a 14-year-old boy - I missed the beginning - I tuned in to hear -You Couldn't Be Cuter - for a few moments I believed Bob Hoskins was the finest singer I had ever heard - but then I realized these were 1930's recordings and it was Al Bowlly who was the finest singer I ever heard.

my grandmother was half Irish, her father was an Irishman that died when she was in her teens. she's always told me about him singing under his breath but it was never words, and it would go on and on. she never knew what it was. I think I may have just figured it out 🥺❤️

I think it would be a good investment to purchase a hall to hold these weddings in. You could rent it out for other venue's. It could pay for itself in a short while. You'd be making money on both ends🎉

I'm reading a biography of Dennis Potter, and I now understand how brilliant he was with this. He's always been a hero of mine, based on "Blue Remembered Hills" and his interview with Melvyn Bragg. before he died. Now, as someone in her 70s, I am really "getting it."
